Our PTA is made up of a group of elected parents and staff. As a group we aim to include all parents and staff in our operation. We do this by inviting parents and staff to share their skills and help at our events, for example last June, many parents volunteered to paint gates, replant pots and do gardening around the school for our annual Summer Fun Day. Generally, every December, members help purchase and serve refreshments at our Christmas concert, or act as quiz master at one of our table quiz nights. We believe that good communication is the key to our PTA success and we publish regular PTA articles in the QE11 newsletter. We also welcome oral or written feedback from members, through parent meetings or questionnaires. Our PTA organise a number of fundraising social events throughout the school year which are open to pupils, parents, family, friends and the wider local community. Our regular events include an Autumn fund raising event such as a cookery evening or tupperware party in term 1, a table quiz night in the local church hall, an annual Family Fun or Sports evening, a book fayre, non-uniform days and end of year Summer BBQs. We work closely with local community businesses and welcome their support and participation. Recently two roofing businesses have donated free labour and resources to replace the deteriorating facia of the school building, used as the PTA base. The PTA also apply for local council grants to enhance and support their organisation of larger community events such as the school jubilee fun night. From time to time, our PTA also offer a programme of activities throughout the school year e.g making a School Calendar or creating Christmas table decorations. The PTA agree expenditure of funds raised with the school principal and teaching staff, to ensure the maximum benefit is gained for all our pupils.
