Aman Association [Charity number: NI107995] The Aman Association is the only community organisation in the South West of Northern Ireland catering specifically for the needs of Muslims. Based in County Fermanagh, the Aman Association provides a point of contact for Muslims within County Fermanagh and surrounding areas, and organises religious and cultural activities and events, including the celebration of religious festivals, the organisation of prayer facilities, and provision of a mosque school and a women’s group. The Association also works in collaboration with the Council’s community relations department and with community organisations, including faith-based ones, to promote good community relations, to breakdown misconceptions and to foster mutual respect and understanding between Muslims and members of the wider community. The Association is acquiring its own premises in Enniskillen to provide a mosque and community centre. This will be the first ever mosque in the South West of Northern Ireland. The Centre will provide dedicated facilities for both religious practice and for welfare, including cultural, recreational and educational activities. |
